What is a "wiki"? According to Wikipedia.com (which, itself, is a wiki - indeed the most well-known wiki in the world) a "wiki" is "a website that allows the visitors themselves to easily add, remove, and otherwise edit and change available content . . . This ease of interaction and operation makes a wiki an effective tool for mass collaborative authoring. . . . "Wiki Wiki" is a reduplication of "wiki", a Hawaiian-language word for fast. The word wiki is a shorter form of wiki wiki (weekie, weekie). The word is sometimes interpreted as the backronym for "what I know is", which describes the knowledge contribution, storage, and the exchange function."

Tico Wiki is open to contributions concerning any topic concerning Costa Rica (or neighboring countries), or which would be of interest to residents of or visitors to Costa Rica.

If you are an "expert", or simply have information to share, on the subject of (for example) History, Birds?, or whatever . . . add a new page to this wiki (or edit/add to an existing page). You can use graphics, links, tables, lists, etc.

To add a new page click on a red question mark. To edit an existing page, click on an underlined link or otherwise navigate to the desired page.

Let's all cooperate to make this the definitive wiki concerning Costa Rica!

Some rules: All posts must pertain to Costa Rica in some way. Any posts or comments which are not Costa Rica related (or which are otherwise inappropriate) are strictly prohibited.
